NPB All Star Games for Reinstatement
Central League squares off with Pacific League from July 22 to 24 in three Cities in Japan
The 2011 three-game All Star series of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) will start in Nagoya on July 22 and will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Japan Sports and to the reinstatement of baseball into the Olympics.
The second game is scheduled for July 23 at QVC Marine Stadium in Chiba and the last one on July 24 at Kleenex Miyagi Stadium in Sendai to encourage local residents who are still affected from the aftermath of the disastrous earthquake and tsunami on March 11.
In the NPB All Star Games the best players of the Central League take on their counterparts of the Pacific League. Fans were able to cast ballots via internet, mobile phones and on paper. Player, manager and coach uniforms from all three games will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to be donated to relief efforts in Japan.
