HONDA Crowned 91st Intercity Baseball Tournament
Team HONDA of Sayama City in Saitama Prefecture won the 91st Intercity Baseball Tournament for the first time in 11 years by winning over 2018 Champion NTT East Japan, representing Metropolitan Tokyo, on Thursday, December 3. The victory was the third for Team Honda in the Tournament. The Championship, usually held in Summer, had been postponed to start on November 22 to avoid overlapping 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 32 regional played the champions at the Tokyo Dome and the number of supporters and fans was limited to 10,000 max. without popular cheering squads owing to COVID-19 outbreak. For the same reason, two other major tournaments of the Japan Amateur Baseball Association did not take place in 2020.
Outfielder INOUE Shogo of HONDA was awarded M.V.P., and Outfielder SATOH Tatsuhiko of HONDA Leading Hitter with .500.
