SEA Games baseball competitions opened in Philippines - Five teams are competing in men's baseball
The Southeast Asian Games Baseball and Softball competitions opened on Monday at The Villages, Clark, Pampanga, Philippines. This is the 30th edition of the SEA Games.
Five teams are competing in the men's baseball event: Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand will fight for the gold medal. The Philippines has won two of the three editions of the baseball event (2005 and 2011), while Thailand claimed the gold medal as host in 2007. Indonesia has won one silver medal and two bronzes.
On the first day of competition, Indonesia used a seven-run fifth inning to defeat Singapore 14-7; while the Philippines defeated Thailand narrowly 3-2.
