Japan and South Korea advanced to the semi-final having beaten Cuba at Premier 12

TAOYUAN, Taiwan (Kyodo) -- Kenta Maeda threw seven scoreless innings and Samurai Japan reached the Premier 12 semifinals with an easy 9-3 win over Puerto Rico on Monday to book a rematch with South Korea on Thursday.
South Korea knocked off Cuba 7-2 to set up Thursday's clash at Tokyo Dome, while the United States and Mexico won Monday's early quarterfinals and will meet at Tokyo Dome on Friday. The United States eased past the Netherlands 6-1, while Mexico handed surprising Canada its first loss of the tournament, coming from behind in the eighth inning of a 4-3 win.
The third-place game and final are set for Saturday at Tokyo Dome.
